2016 - Week 4 - Bulimba - Thursday 30 June

QuestGaine will be headed to Bulimba this week.

Bulimba has generally been one of the better QuestGaine locations given the varied terrain and interesting road networks. The starting location will be the small park (it's there, just not visible on the embedded map) on the corner of Godwin St and Barramul St.

Timing:
Please arrive by 6:50pm
Map handout at 6:58pm
Turn over maps for two minutes of route planning at 6:38pm
Mass start at 7:00pm
Finish at 8:00pm - 20 point penalty for every minute you are late
8:00pm onwards - enter your answers into the online form that generates a live leaderboard

What to bring:
Marker Pen/highlighter
Headtorch
Compass (optional)
Whistle for safety (optional)

It's from an anthology of winning entries to competitions in The New Statesman, edited by Arthur Marshall, and cheered me up somewhat. Not that ENO's Salome would have needed to worry, because there wasn't much evidence of a severed head at all: just a placcy bag that for all we know might have contained a large cauliflower. One's cynical side considers it's probably cheaper than constructing a replica head of Jokanaan. I love good reinterpretations of operas.
